Human Trafficking in a New Form (Case Study : The Germany Ferienjob Case)

The ferienjob program in Germany is a part-time job opportunity for students during holidays. It is not related to their academic studies. This program involves physical labor like lifting boxes, wrapping packages, and washing dishes. Unfortunately, since 2022, there have been fraudulent activities targeting Indonesian university students. These students were promised an international internship under the guise of the ferienjob program, but it turned out to be unrelated to their majors. The Indonesian Embassy in Germany reported this case to the Indonesian government, classifying it as transnational organized crime and human trafficking.
